![]() We are coming into the equivalent of monsoon season for stay-at-home parents. The snot-freezing cold, the endless darkness, the stir crazy children? Remember last year how just one more play session at the "mall play area" would have sent you directly to the nut house? Are you sitting under a "happy light" already and dreading the days when you have to put so much outdoor gear on your kids – three times a day – just to run back and forth to school? Well my friends, the time is now to build your arsenal of entertainment. By serious effort and preparation alone will you survive to greet March...and 40 degree weather. This last weekend we had an awesome visit with Axel's "old buddy" from St. Cloud and we were clued in on the popular "Rainbow Loom" craze sweeping through a primary school near you. I have to admit that these bracelets were on my radar, but the prospect of shelling out $30 or more for rubber bands and a piece of plastic didn't have me running to Michaels. Axel's old buddy had a super neat-o loom, from Crafts Direct (St. Cloud, MN) that was much simpler and cheaper than it's viral counterpart. With a few materials from Grandpa Moustache I managed to recreate a similar concept. Watch as Axel demonstrates his loom and how your kids can fill a few hours without your guilt over "screen time."

Thanks Axel! I am excited for my boys to make these at home - maybe on our trip. :)
