I said I would post more info on Grand View Lodge and this would be it. Is it bragging to say that you spent Independence Day at one of Minnesotas top resorts? I'm thinking not since all of you Minnesota travelers will now have the inside scoop on where the action is at.
Let me begin by saying that whether you travel with party-seeking college kids, book-loving grown ups, a hoard of children or a mixture of the above, this is a spectacular destination.
Of all the Brainerd area resorts I've tried (Ruttgers, Breezy Point, Grand View) this one features many different vacation packages that can fit your budget or spoil you entirely.
Here are pics of the Historic Inn and the waterfront beach/pool house.
With many on-site restaurants, cafe, spa and more, you can literally park your car and stay a while. I loved that the "indoor pool" was actually open to the outdoors, making the beach and shady waterslide area feel like one element and erasing the "nasty indoor pool in the summer" feel.
Is it ice cream you're after on vacation? I hear the Chocolate Ox (on-site) is fabulous. However, due to the line outside, we never did wait around for it. I thought this line was absolutely hilarious. What's even more funny? The people I caught walking away with such sad looks on their faces after deciding against the line.
Why didn't we wait on such a gorgeous Minnesota evening? We had a complimentary pontoon cruise to catch.
We seriously had a wonderful time over the forth and I would whole-heartedly recommend you make your reservations for next year.
Just a couple pics of the fam to top off the post.
