It was frustrating to hear yesterday that we potentially lost the sale of our house due to a cosmetic issue with the siding on our garage. Never mind the fact that the siding had to be pieced because we installed about $1500 worth of new Andersen windows, sheetrocked and insulated the garage...these buyers were only concerned with the 2 pieces of siding that had to be spliced to make the updates possible.
We had meant to put a piece of lattice over the splice and grow a few climbers but the weather has not yet cooperated and the showings went on...siding and all.
Today, we remedied the situation with a pallet cut in two, some weed barrier (to keep the dirt in), potting soil and plenty of annuals. On the south side of the garage, these babies are sure to catch sun and grow.
Do I wish we could re-side the house and paint it a more becoming color? Absolutely. However, having played the real estate game several times, I'm quite good at the cost/benefit equation and this time we're playing the game of "Hide and Seek Siding."
