While discussing decorating projects for my Mom's new digs last weekend, we concluded that the perfect addition to her kitchen would be an entire wall of chalkboard. She has the perfect house for it, in fact she has the perfect house all around While I live in my own world, where nothing is perfect and everything is "perfectly irregular" (just how I like it), I decided that while my Mom's chalkboard would look classic, be filled with beautiful drawings/sayings, and would have the purpose of "finishing" a room, I could have a chalkboard of my own with the intention of inspiring, having a sanctioned place for "mess" and giving Axel a place to express his "beginnings" as an artist with fresh eyes for the world. Things got a bit scary when the black paint went up. It was indeed BLACK. I have to say however, as things progressed I started to go to my "happy place" where everything was coming up art! I've started to chalk-it-up, but am in need of some assistance to get to higher ground. Jahred doesn't know it yet, but we'll be buying one of those fancy infomercial ladders, the ones that can rest level on stairs. Michelangelo had state of the art scaffolding I'm sure and I expect no less. :) First things first. Give the kid a designated space. I assume that over time that frame will become a bit of a suggestion...merely an element to include in his master plan. I don't really mind how much space he takes over, just so long as he has art at heart.
