(Focusing on the Marshmallow Fondant which was really the star of this dessert. The cakes underneath weren't our best effort however the fondant, as previously assumed to be difficult, proved to be as easy as 1 - 2 - 3. Begin with 1 bag of large marshmallows. Add a sprinkling of water to wet them slightly. Place them in the microwave and heat in 10 second intervals. When they can be stirred, their ready. Begin adding powdered sugar, stirring it in with the spoon at first. Add food coloring until slightly darker than desired color. Continue adding powdered sugar until you get this... Approx. 1 bag of powdered sugar used. When it's not sticking to your hands, you're good to go. The remaining powdered sugar will absorb, you can also "polish" it with a paper towel or your hands. Sprinkle some cornstarch onto a flat surface and roll away! Prepare your cake by covering the crumbs with a layer of butter cream frosting (this also helps smooth imperfection in the cake. Lift and lay. Smooth and trim. Decor8. Consume!
