Such a month we're having. Rushing between a remodel and a new birth. Rolling in the green grass and destroying our porch with every ounce of "cooped up" that we've saved all winter long.
I find myself adjusting as my "little man posse" turns into serious thinkers and big dreamers. Childhood is a constant state of adjustment – sporting an equal number of reminders that they're both growing up and still so fresh in this world. I'm reminded of the special privileges of being a boy mom. As I was chatting away with my sister-in-law about raising a son, I shared with her a few of the perks. 1. Boy moms are always right. Because girl moms have no idea "what we go through". 2. You get spontaneous access to the MENS bathroom when a kid wanders in and makes a surprise deposit – requiring a wipe. We celebrate a new person and our hearts overflow with fun thoughts of what will become of him and his dreams. The boys were awe struck as they were able to hold him - just a few hours old. They were enamored by his messy hair (from the "birth grease") and enjoyed his tiny fists and features. We had a chance to get our pictures taken. Together. And I couldn't be more pleased that they look EXACTLY LIKE US! The way Axel crosses his arms and can't take a face-forward smiling picture even with bribery. Ollie's solo dimple. My...well it's the only picture I've seen of myself in a long time...so I guess this is what I look like to y'all. What a blessing photography can be. Here are a few. Thanks to @fourth.aspect for stopping time - briefly.
