I could generalize here, saying that it's ALWAYS during the "radio silence" or the "pregnant pause" that things are in fact most active...but instead of applying these slogans globally I'll simply say that in MY life, in the last few weeks, this pregnant –yet not pregnant – pause has been filled with plenty of action, many thoughts and uncertain plans for the future.
While I'm not yet ready to reveal what's been on my mind – for reasons of career and academic future – I will say that the winds of change are blowing. This time I'm hoping they're not the winds of a winter storm, but of a summer breeze that will land us just exactly where we are supposed to be. Some of the things I am willing to admit right now to are these: Oliver is taking soy formula now and I'm feeling the relief of it all – lessening his dependence on my body. I recently bought $12 worth of clothes FOR MYSELF at JCP. Two shirts and one pair of pants...yes all for $12. I NEVER find things for myself and it was exciting. I cleaned my kitchen appliances last week with Qtips and toothpicks. Damn, that feels good. We got one cool tip on Easter Eggs from Andrea just today (and did a trial run). Instructions: Boil eggs. While they are still hot – color on them with crayon. Refrigerate. MUCH EASIER than dying them in water and all of that.
